PAGEANT UPDATES: MISS UNIVERSE PUERTO RICO 2009 IS FROM RICO GRANDE!!!

Mariana Paola Vicente Morales, 20, Miss Universe Rio Grande, was crowned Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2010, at the Centro de Bellas Artes of San Juan. She defeated 38 other contestants.

The 1st runner-up was Miss Universe Carolina, Ariana Rodríguez, and Miss Universe Cayey, Aideliz Hidalgo, was the 2nd runner-up.

The winner, who has already been nicknamed the “Caribbean Barbie”, will try the 6th Miss Universe title for the island of Puerto Rico. She was crowned by Mayara Matos, Miss Universe 2009’s 4th runner-up.

HUNK OF THE DAY (11/10): PRESENTING LEBANESE HUNK ELIE SADER!!!

Elie Sader is a Lebanese hunk, model, and recently elected second runner-up at Mister Lebanon 2009-2010 pageant last November 1st. Born on February 14th, Elie is a model from Nidal’s Agency. He is a mechanical engineer by profession.

PAGEANT UPDATES: MISTER LEBANON 2009-2010 RESULTS!!!

Abdel Rahman Balaa was crowned Mr.Lebanon 2009-2010 on November 1st at the Regency Palace. Judges chose Balaa based on evening wear, swimwear and questions. Many celebrities and media personalities attended the event including Minister of Tourism Elie Marouni, the Lebanese Madonna and others. Mr. Lebanon was hosted by MTV and presented by Youmna Sherri.

Rabih Jalkh and Elie Sader placed as first and second runners-up respectedly. Special awards went to Marcelino Gebrayel (Mr Friendship) and Michel Sarkis (Mr Photogenic, top 5).

The new Mister Lebanon will be representing his country at Mister World 2010 in Korea.

Clearly the frontrunner in Mister World 2010!

PAGEANT UPDATES: VENEZUELA STRIKES AGAIN! MISS VENEZUELA WORLD 2009-2010 WINS REINA HISPANOAMERICANA 2009!!!

Adriana Cristina Vasini Sanchez, a beauty from Zulia, Venezuela and the reigning Miss Venezuela World 2009 was recently crowned as the new Reina Hispanoamericana 2009 during the annual pageant held in Santa Cruz on October 29th. She was crowned by her predecessor, Vivian Noronha Cia of Brazil.

The twenty-two year old medicine student defeated twenty other beauties in both swinsuit, evening gown, and final Q&A interview. The 1.78 m beauty will be expecting to represent Venezuela in Miss World 2010 in Vietnam. Vasini’s victory remarked Venezuela’s 5th victory in the history of Reina Hispanoamericana. 

Meanwhile, the “Virreina” or “vice-miss” is 19-year old Sandra Vinces, Miss Ecuador; the 1st runner-up was Brazil (Livia Nepomuceno), 2nd runner-up was Spain (Melody Mir); 3rd runner-up was Bolivia (Flavia Foianini), 4th runner-up Dominican Republic (Rocio Castellon) and the 5th runner-up was Colombia (Lina Mosquera). Best National Costume award goes to Miss Mexico, Andrea Martinez.

Ada Aimee de la Cruz, the current Miss Universe 2009 first runner-up was one of the judges at that night.

Last year, Reina Hispanoamericana was marred by scandals and controversies when the original winner for 2008 edition, Mexico’s Laura Zuniga was arrested by the authorities for illegal possession of drugs and deadly weapons. First runner-up Vivian Noronha Cia of Brazil assumed the title.

CHIZMAXX: MISS DOMINICAN REPUBLIC WORLD ANA RITA CONTRERAS WAS ACCUSED OF FRAUD!!!

Mr. Andrea Biamonti filed a lawsuit against Omar Baldomero Rosario Contreras, Claudia Melosis Mercedes Sosa, Cecilia Clidia against Sosa and the current Miss World Dominican candidate, Ana Rita Contreras Sosa, for an alleged million-dollar scam related to the termination of a few floors of apartments.

Biamonti accuses Sosa Contreras family with violating several articles of the Criminal Procedure Code and in the case of Ana Rita Contreras Sosa was put the name of a sister, fraudulently, several buildings which were previously sold to third parties.

According to a press release sent to The Independent in the lawsuit filed in the National District Attorney’s Office, states that Baldomero Contreras Omar Sosa and his daughters distracted their benefit funds in excess of six million dollars and in addition to building materials valued at RD $ 298.000.

Biamonti explains that he and his partner Aldo Barberis Contreras Sosa agreed to seek the necessary funding for completion of the three floors of this property and the completion of a basement, installing a lift, completion of the ladder and facades of the building to the seventh floor roof.

Explain that both parties quantified at RD $ 12 million 500 thousand investment required for the completion of the apartments in the building adjacent to Gazcue Medical Center in Bolivar Avenue corner Leopoldo Navarro.

He said these funds would be obtained with own resources he and his partner, with gains on the sale of commercial premises to be implemented and if necessary in mortgage loans with interest charges Contreras Sosa.

He noted that as part of this agreement was agreed that the administration of the work, income and bank financing would be implemented jointly, which never happened.

Contreras explains that the family used for their benefit Sosa funds resulting from the sale and rental of premises and diverted materials for the completion of the apartments, and one of her daughters also seized two of the stores.

Biamonti family also accused Contreras Sosa of falsifying signatures to sell one of the premises.

He explained that because the accused have been taking money for their benefit has not been able to afford a mortgage registered on one floor in dispute and on behalf of Charles Biamonti, son of the complainant, now bank initiated a foreclosure property.

PAGEANT UPDATES: TWINS CROWNED MISS WASHINGTON USA BACK TO BACK!

SEATTLE (October 13th) – This goes beyond sibling rivalry: 23-year-old Tara and Tracy Turnure are the only twins to be crowned back-to-back Miss Washington USA.

Their accomplishment might even be a first in the country.

“I was crowned Miss Washington USA 2010. I got crowned by my twin sister Tara Turnure. It was just surreal,” said the new Miss Washington USA, Tracy Turnure.

Tara was the reigning Miss Washington USA. She’s on her first day of retirement, handing the crown to her twin sister Tracy.

They believe this is a first in pageant history.

“Never twins and never back to back,” said Tracy.

At Tracy’s first photo shoot since winning the crown, her sister Tara – who’s an hour-and-a-half older – doesn’t have some older-sister advice.

“I was able to boss her around a little bit, and tell her what she needed to do to win,” said Tara.

But Tracy is 5 inches taller. She even took off her shoes for a shoot with her slightly older and shorter sister.

They credit their differences as the key to victory.

“If we were identical, there’s no way she would have won,” said Tara. “They don’t want the exact same person to be next year’s winner.”

But they hope, like other famous twins such as Mary Kate and Ashley Olson, that their success is identical.

“Keep tabs on both me and Tracy. I think we’re both going to go big places and be so supportive of one another,” said Tara.

Both the twins won the Miss Washington USA crown on their first attempt. Their success might have been in their blood. Their mom was also a pageant winner.

CHIZMAXX: BOYZONE HUNK STEPHEN GATELY DIED UNEXPECTEDLY AT HIS VACATION AT MAJORCA

Boyzone Hunk Stephen Gately died unexpectedly at his vacation in Majorca, Spain last October 10th.

The 33-year-old went to sleep after a night out but failed to wake up, according to the News of the World.

The four remaining band members are flying out to the island today.

Singer Ronan Keating is said to be “completely devastated”.

A message on the band’s official website confirmed Gately’s death: “Stephen tragically died whilst on holiday in Majorca yesterday.

“He was there with his partner Andrew. At present we don’t have too many details. The rest of the boyz will be travelling to Majorca later this morning.”

Gately married his partner Andrew Cowles in a civil union in March 2006.

When the gay singer came out 10 years ago it caused a sensation in the pop music world.

Dan Wootton, showbiz editor of the News of the World, told Sky News how he spoke to Boyzone’s manager Louis Walsh after the news of Gately’s death broke.

He said the X Factor judge told him: “I’m in complete shock. I was only with him on Monday at an awards ceremony. We don’t know much about what’s happened yet.

“I only heard after The X Factor and we will rally around each other this week. He was a great man.”

Band member Shane Lynch told the newspaper the rest of the band will now head out to Majorca.

He told Wootton: “We just need to get over to where he’s passed and work out what we need to do.”

Gately also became a star in the West End, appearing as Joseph in and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and on television in ITV’s Dancing on Ice.

He last posted a message on his Twitter page on October 6, writing: “Still busy – lots going on. Focussing on finishing my book next so may be quiet here.”

FRESH FEMALE FACE OF THE DAY (10/11): THE MESMERIZING DIVA SUZANA AL-SALKINI!!!

Suzana Al-Salkini (born 1984 in Skopje, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Macedonian model. Actually, she would represented her country in Miss World 2008 in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 13 December 2008, but due to financial issues and the lack of sponsorship, she was not allowed to travel to South Africa to compete for the crown. Instead she got the opportunity to compete in Miss World 2009, also in Johannesburg, South Africa on 12 December 2009.

Suzana is at university studying tourism and wants to run her own spa resort. Hobbies include mountain biking, swimming, belly-dancing and acting. Her favourite food is Mediterranean and she has a pet goldfish called Wanda. Her personal motto is “Do unto others as you would wish them do onto you”. She speaks five languages: English, Arabic, Serbian, Turkish and French.

PAGEANT UPDATES: PUTERI INDONESIA (MISS UNIVERSE INDONESIA) 2009 RESULTS!!!

Qory Sandioriva (L) from Aceh province, won the title Puteri Indonesia 2009 during the pageant’s final in Jakarta Oct. 10, 2009. Thirty-eight contestants from 33 provinces in Indonesia took part in the pageant.

Qory will represent Indonesia in Miss Universe 2010 while Zukhriatul Hafizah, first runner up and Isti Ayu Pratiwi, second runner up  will represent Indonesia in Miss International 2010 and Miss Asia Pacific International 2010 respectively.

PAGEANT UPDATES: MISS CHINA 2009 RESULTS!!!

The new Miss China 2009 being crowned by Ksenia Sukhinova, Miss World 2008

The lovely and sweet Yu Sheng has been crowned the 59th Miss World China in Shenzhen, south China’s Guangdong Province on Oct. 6, 2009 by the winner of the 2008 Miss World winner Ksenia Sukhinova of Russia.

The First Runner-Up is Zhan Yang and the second runner-up is Yu Wei Wei.

20 year old Yu Sheng (also transliterated Shen Yujie) from Dalin stands 1.78m tall and works as a model. She had previously earned the title of Miss China Tourism Queen International 2009.

Newly crowned Miss China Yu Sheng will represent China at the “Miss World” competition in South Africa in December, bidding for the prestigious title along with other 119 contestants from around the world who will represent their countries.
